The History of Kibsgaard |
1946
The company Kibsgaard was established in 1946 by Hans Kibsgaard with a production set-up in the centre of Copenhagen. The initial product portfolio consisted of emblems and medals made for the Royal Family, the military, and different associations.
1959
Kibsgaard moved to the outskirts of Copenhagen, where the production of metal signs for bicycles, cars, TV and Hi-Fi was initiated.
1982
Time came to expand, and the company moved to larger facilities in Skovlunde. The product development increased and nameplates for DVDs, computers, and mobile phones were added to Kibsgaard’s product portfolio – representing new customers as Ericsson, Nokia and Philips. The production of emblems and medals were gradually brought to an end.
2000
During 2000, the increased success of producing logos for the mobile phone marked demanded further attention to automated production methods – not least for the handling of small logos and nameplates. During this period, the coating technology was also added to Kibsgaard’s know-how and technologies. As a result, an extension of the production was required and Kibsgaard moved to Skovlunde, Literbuen 13-15 – being our existing premises with administration and production.
2008
Kibsgaard underlines its position as global leader in the development of innovative branding solutions.
As the first manufacturer in the world, Kibsgaard creates a Diamond-Cut Separate Letter Solution. This solution was created in a working partnership with one of Kibsgaard's key accounts and has created world-wide interest to a wide range of other leading brands.
Compared to electroformed wordmarks, this solution offers significant advantages in design, adhesion and costs.
